Iben Toft Nørgård:
With collage as technique and expression, the works of Iben Toft Nørgård concurrently appear menacing and seductive. At first figurative and beautiful, the collage-works unfolds details of ‘disgust’ and an underlying surrealism, bordering to abstraction. In an outburst of color and an original use of materials and structures, the works presents a thorough prepared detail-richness open to interpretation. And the spectator’s attention remains captured through the ambiguous working with the beautiful and ugly.
Lived and worked in Berlin, DE since 2008 but relocated to Denmark mid-2012.

Education:
2000-05 Det Jyske Kunstakademi / Academy of Fine Art, Aarhus. DK.
