“Right now I am most interested in live-sampling of sounds and noises, whether acoustic or electronic, the repetition and manipulation of these samples and the discovery of new sounds on this journey.”

Mangrove Kipling
Musician and sound-performer. Lives and works in Berlin.
Modified Bass and live processing.
Next to an electronic music practice based on field recordings (laptop), straight-mix and the recent use of the cello in his setup, the guitar plays a main part in his soundscapes, and its voice mixes with objects, glitches, frequencies and impacts of samplers and effects in order to disrupt the connection between the object that one sees and the perception of it that one gets. Has recently started to work with hybrid/modified guitar and bass.
“The borders are subtle, and my work fluctuates between the alienation of known affects, disturbing the usual reception, and the habilitation of unknown ones, making them familiar to our ears. In other words I tend to narrow the gaps between admitted percepts, disturbing the audience’s awareness by taking them on a journey in an “hypnosonic” state.”
